Overview resistance sensor / thermocouple

The Thermocouples generate a millivolt voltage, also called thermoelectric voltage, through a solid conductive connection of two different conductive metals.
The temperature absorption in thermocouples is pointed at the sensor tip. One distinguishes potential-free and potential-linked thermocouples. The decisive factor here is whether the Thermodrähte are connected to the measuring tip or not. If the wires are connected to the probe tip (mass), the thermocouple is called a potential bond. The advantage of this construction is usually the faster reaction to temperature.
If the thermostrands are not connected to the ground, one is called a potential-free thermocouple. No interference can be transmitted to the controller via the mass.

The Resistance sensors  works due to the fact that the resistance value of metals changes with temperature. Usually a platinum sensor PT100 is used. With resistance sensors, no special cable is required to extend the temperature sensor. The extension can be made with a standard copper cable.

Temperature sensor Types:
Sheath sensor
Bayonet sensor
Screw-in sensor
Angled Sensor

Sheath thermocouples consist of an outer sheath made of metal and, depending on the design, of 2 to 6 inner wires, the thermal material. The insulation of the inner wires consists of highly compressed magnesium oxide Mg0. Sheath thermocouples are used wherever extreme conditions prevail due to their chemical, mechanical and electrical stability. Due to the minimum bending radius (approx. 5 x outer diameter) sheath thermocouples can be fitted in places that are difficult to access.

Sheath Thermocouple

Due to the special measuring tip, the bayonet probes are particularly suitable for use in plane and pointed bores. The dimensionally stable compression spring ensures a constant contact pressure of the measuring tip in the borehole and also provides cable bend protection. Due to the adjustable bayonet lock, the installation length can be varied as required.

The bayonet sensors can be manufactured with all common sensors such as PT100, Pt500, Pt1000 as well as thermocouples of types K, J, L etc.
